US Election 1824 Map

The 1824 election was a political free-for-all. With the Federalists long gone, every major candidate claimed to be a Democratic-Republican. But the party had splintered into factions. Four men ran for president including Andrew Jackson, John Quincy Adams, William Crawford, and Henry Clay. This map tells the story of that chaos. Jackson won the most popular and electoral votes, but not a majority.
