The 1952 Presidential Election ended 20 years of Democratic control in the White House as Dwight D. Eisenhower (Republican) defeated Adlai Stevenson (Democrat) in a major landslide. Eisenhower, a popular World War II general, effectively flipped large portions of the country that had been reliably Democratic for decades.

Election Summary
