The 1952 Presidential Election ended 20 years of Democratic control in the White House as Dwight D. Eisenhower (Republican) defeated Adlai Stevenson (Democrat) in a major landslide. Eisenhower, a popular World War II general, effectively flipped large portions of the country that had been reliably Democratic for decades.

Election Summary
- The Winner: Dwight D. Eisenhower (Republican) won a landslide with 442 electoral votes (83%).
- The Challenger: Adlai Stevenson (Democrat) carried only 9 states, finishing with 89 electoral votes (17%).
- Popular Vote: Eisenhower won 55% of the vote (33,937,252) while Stevenson earned 44.5% (27,314,992).
- Southern Shift: In a continuation of the trend seen in 1948, the Republicans broke further into the “Solid South,” with Eisenhower winning Texas, Virginia, Tennessee, and Florida.
- Record Turnout: The total popular vote surged to 61,551,919, a massive increase from the 48,687,608 votes cast in 1948.
